Class D driver's license for new driver under age 18

Graduated driver's licensing system

Minnesota uses a graduated driver’s licensing system, just like every other U.S. state. This helps you gain experience with driving. It also has passenger and other restrictions to make your driving safer.

If you are revoked for a crash, or an alcohol or controlled substance related violation, you will not be able to regain your driving privileges until you are 18, see the Vanessa’s Law page.
